Online Content Adjustments
When we set up our online content, prepare the syllabus, and create quizzes/tests we are satisfied and prepared to teach. However, we all know how quickly new lesson plans and courses fall apart. Please be willing to adjust your courses if things are not working well. I believe a course should be assessed three times before you start to make changes.
James,
It is helpful not just for the student but for the instructor as well. This was instructors can make the class better next time it is run.

I agree Bob... I feel three times through the course is ample time to work out the "kinks" and really get a feel for how the course is running.
Outcomes and assessment should be done after the each couse is taught in my opinion, If you find an issue in a current session, I have always offered opportunities to tweek the class and make recommendations for change. If the program isn't working, its our job to reach out using various teach method to the various learning styles. this is more complicated in the online environment
Kelia,
I've always felt that three times through a course was a good measure of how it's working. But this is valid from Day One to the Final Exam; the course as a whole. Being able to "feel" your way during a class session, and making adjustments then and there if necessary is, in my opinion, acceptable. Then those adjustments would factor into any course changes, after your three assessments.
kelia,
Adjusting on the fly if necessary. Each class we teach, whether it is in a building or online, will have a different type of student base.
