There are many forms of technology that can be used in in order to measure learning and understanding of the content of the online course.
That research is very interesting to me. I must say that I do find communicating with students solely through voice eliminates many distractions that are naturally associated with social behavior, such as students competing to be seen, and a host of other non-verbal clutter.

Yes,and they can connect with your voice. Research does show that if you introduce your face along with ppt, you can cause cognitive confusion.

Alot of my students like using powerpoint presentations with voice explaining the slides. They say that it helps them with understand the slides, better than reading the speakers notes.
