Feedback

Feedback is important to help the student assess their learning throughout the course of online teaching.

Dr. Vicki,

We all have our typo challenges. ;-) Take care.

Hi Dr.C: Your feedback on these forum threads is great! I got a laugh out of the "food practice"!

Todd,

Right on. Good practice is food for thought. ;-) Thanks!

Whoops, I just saw that in my notes before reading your response. "Good practice" in providing solid feedback is just as important as giving "food for thought" in providing practical suggestions. Thanks!

Todd,

"Food practice" -- ;-) You're right it is good practice to help students use the feedback to help them improve. Thanks for you input.

I find that it is always food practice to discuss two areas of an assignment that they did well in and two areas in which they can improve. This strategy usually helps me provide feedback that is clear, concise, and coherent.

Todd

Jim,

Thanks for you input. Students need feedback and constructive criticism to help them grow. None of us know everything and we all need to improve in something. It's a learning experience.

Nice job.

Assignment feedback is important, however, most students just care about the grade. Feedback is important when they didn't get a solid A. Then students want to know why they didn't do better. Providing suggestions where they could have done better is so much better to just criticism. I always try to help my students know how to do well in any class.

Gerry,

Feedback is important to the students and instructor. Getting feedback from your peers about your course is also helpful.
