Providing meaningful feedback
I have found that students like to have detailed feedback and at times, it is necessary to return their papers using track changes and recommendations. I will add the rubric that identifies the areas in question as well. I also like to utilize a web link that is related to the respective material for that week.

Tracey,
Right. Feedback is a form of communication and interaction between the instructor and teacher. We have to provide enough feedback to help students learn. Thanks!
Students love detailed feedback, especially when it's individualized. It's a great way of commutation between the teacher and student to further the students understanding of the material.
Patricia,
You are so right. I find it so helpful and so much of a time saver and I can refer students back to the videos when they continue to make the same mistakes. Nice job.
Hani, my students enjoy getting a JING video where I review their assignment and talk through its strengths and areas of improvement. I can talk faster than I can write, so this is also a time saver for me.
david,
Thanks for your continued input in these forums. We do need to provide meaningful feedback to our students to help them improve.
If we are not providing detailed feedback I have found as well that the students don't take the work as seriously. They wane to know that you are paying attention to their work.
Traci,
The "why" is very important. Students need to understand why what they did was wrong and how to improve. Keep it up.
Thanks!
I definitely agree with you Michael. I have many students that look for my emails, or messages to them regarding their grades, questions they got wrong and why?
Hani,
My student love the audio/video feedback and my research has shown that it not only helps students understand what they did wrong, but understand why it is wrong. This is very helpful to them.
Michael,
Detailed feedback can help students improve and stay on task and move toward achieving the learning outcomes. Thanks!
How about audio or video feedback, do you this it can be more meaningful feedback to students?
Thanks
