I find it difficult to get any kind of feedback from my students since they are very nonverbal. They just tend to say what a great teacher I was to them and never hear another word. Even if I try to pull it out of them it is difficult to get straight answers.
I find common sense is a thing of the past in this generation, however there are those few that I will find here and there that can talk with some kind of sense or need to state what they feel.
Jessica,
So, true. We learn so much from our peers and our students. Thanks!
I agree. Sometimes looking from the outside in gives a great perspective on how students perceive your ideas and teaching. Feedback, whether it be positive or negative can impact your decision to take away or add something to your presentation materials. Thanks for sharing!
Cathleen,
Right on. Knowing what works and doesn't work are equally important. My students are very honest when I ask for feedback and I appreciate that. Thanks for your input.
Tena, you are so right. It is important to get feedback to know which things are working and which things aren't! Sometimes we can be surprised!! It's good to see ourselves through others' eyes.
Eric,
You got that right! ;-) Reflection and getting feedback from students and peers is an excellent teaching tool. Thanks!
