Organized Discussion Boards?

I see posts that are 5 years old. And, there are no instructions on what I'm supposed to do after taking the first quiz. Do the necessary ingrediants for a good online class only apply to students? Or, should they also apply to courses taken by faculty as well?

Hi Martin,

I am open to being corrected, but it sounds like we can post on any topic we feel important that relates to this Module.

For example, giving students clear direction is important for their retention and success. So I could talk about the importance of course objectives:

Course objectives are what the course covers and the knowledge that a student should have upon exiting the course. They are mandatory for accreditation and, I would argue, student success. This is a common definition, but I like to go a little further. I teach different humanities subjects which makes a lot of students say: "Why do I need this course? What does it have to do with what I want to do?" and so on. Yet I point to the course objectives as a toolkit for my students to take with them on the job. It is my hope that upon leaving the course, my students will have a basic set of tools to use when they face dilemmas and conflicts on the job.

Hi-- I don't know what the question for discussion is. Where is that located?

The topic indicates that the dicsussion should be about "organized discussion boards" but what aspect? There are several, from the clarity of the topic to the directions to facilitate learning. I'm not sure what should be discussed.

Alexander,
Yes, I believe we may need to address this. Thank you for notifying me.
