What is the best method of recording video feeds for online classrooms? Are there free software programs for this method?
Nancy,
Very good ideas. Keep up the great work! Thank you for sharing, too!

A couple of things that I do to add video, I have a webcam that I can use with Microsoft Movie Maker to video me talking. But if I am trying to explain a computer procedure, I will use Camtasia to video my screen as I am working through the software on my desk top. I have a microphone that allows me to explain the procedure. I purchased Camtasia many years ago, but Jing is a free software that allows you to video your desk top.
Karlen,
This is a definitely a (free) tool that has proven useful in many online classrooms. If there is a specific content you are considering, be sure to do a search first because it may already be out there in the millions that already exist. I've been surprised to find some things I thought I would have to make myself. Adding your own personalized video for a specific audience would be a great touch, also. Have fun!!! ;-]

I wonder if one could make a short phone video and then post it on You Tube? I'd like to avoid a fee if possible?
Hi Melissa, we have also had great success using Adobe Connect as a means of interacting with our learners. Tina
While I don’t know of any free programs I have had great success with Adobe Connect. There is a fee associated with this service, but I use it in all of my courses. It allows you to project your webcam, video, and power point slides. This way, students can put a face with your name. It’s a great way to build a community within the online course room, and it also allows you to reach out to those auditory learners.
Hi Shelly, I don't have any experience with this but I'm sure you could Google it and find several software programs. Tina
