Noisy Students
I an actual classroom setting I have had noisy students. It was much easier to tame their behavior. What is the best policy for dealing with this type of student online?
In dealing with noisy students in the classroom, I try to engage and redirect their behavior towards the class content with direct interaction.
In an online environment, you could do the same thing through email or with a chat question directed towards this student and involving their special interest(s).
You could also engage the student by giving them a leadership role with for an online task and making them responsible for some portion of class results.
