Technology Tea Room
I create a technology tea room forum for students to ask any question or post material related to the course

"Water cooler," "Book club," etc. are all great ideas to start to get students to be engaged in the course. Thanks!
Another term that could be added is the "Water Cooler" forum. Students use this area to ask questions regarding just about anything pertaining to the course. Other students 'peers' often respond to other students. Instructors often only have to respond by saying "Thanks for reaching out...". This is a truly a time saver for instructors and beneficial for the students. Donna

Yea, some instructors use "Tea Room" or "Coffee Shop" or other terms so students understand they have a place to hang out. Thanks!
I like the term Technology Tea Room. I just have "Questions for the Instructor" area. It would help to have a specific area for technology issues

Do your students feel comfortable sharing in this environment? I would think so as this would be similar to a FAQ area and a way to build the community. Thanks!
