Reviewing ways to provide positive feedback is always a plus, everyone prfers that!

I feel thta I need to enhance the different ways I provide feedback to ensue the students understand why a response may have not been completly correct. This could help them possibly fully understand what the objective is.

I like the idea of utilizing peer evaluation. I have done that in clinical, having another student observe and provide feedback of a student's physical assessment. This technique is very effective, as mentioned in the module, both students are able to learn from the interaction. I also like the idea of have students provide self-assessment on a rubric....they don't often realize the importance of the rubric and having them use it to self-evaluate will get them more comfortable with using and applying rubrics to their work.

When providing feedback to the student, tie the feedback to the objectives to enhance learning.

I learned the difference between formative and summative assessments and how best to use them, as well as the importance of feedback.

The main ideas I've learned in this unit are: the difference between the formative and summative assessments; creating a rubric; Including self and peer evaluation; and providing meaningful feedback.

I definitely have a better understanding of the formative assessment given a few example. I will definitely use the 1-minute paper or the muddiest point.

We use reflection paper after each clinic or on a weekly basis.  It helps to know that it validates the purpose of helping the students develop ownership in their learning.

I learned that feedback from instructors must be meaningful to enhance students' learning and it is necessary for students' learning.

Often overlooked is peer-to-peer feedback.  I find this extremely valuable not only for instructing but for building content.  Often times newer ideas come from simple feedback.

Feedback is an important aspect for learning so ensuring you know how to provide it in a meaninful way is crucial.

Putting objective and sequencing into a rubric enables the students to understand what you expect during the course.

Meaningful feedback that is connected to learning objectives, and is specific, detailed, individualized and provided in an appropriate way, gives students information to help them increase their knowledge and/or skills.

Types of assessments: formative, summative, self, or peer.

The importance of feedback as it should always be used as a tool along with the rubrics and syllabus to enhance learning.  Immediate feedback is obviously better than late feedback as students hang on every word and wait with anticipation for some form of feedback to assist the learing journey.

I learned about Blooms taxonomy to use appraisals as the students' goals are comprehensive.

Student are successful when feed back is given to them.  It allows the student to learn and prefect their learning when constuctive critisim is given.

Perhaps one of the most important aspects of feedback is being able to tie in real world experience. Instructors come with lived experience in a variety of industries, so the best thing they can do is bring some practicality to the feedback they provide.

I really love the idea of the self-assessment and self-assessment rubric.  It really puts the student in the driver seat of their own academic success an self-improvement.

In this module, I have learned the importance of feedback in assessments. I will apply in all types of course assessments.

Definitely want to start having more peer assessments.  Instead of just my feedback they'd be hearing from their classmates.

I love the idea of incorporating a formative assessment into my online courses. By asking students to reflect on the quality of their assignment and their process for completing it, I will gain additional information into what students may be struggling with while promoting self-reflection and assessment.
