Communicating Properly

I have found that many people are forgetting about the importance of proper Business Writing. It is important to remember such a classic and formal way of communicating in the business world. Do you feel we have let our younger generations get away with texting in shorthand, no grammer, and lack of proper sentence structure?

and i also agree with you

yes, you are right there is really need some education to give or give a training to our younger generation to right grammar, proper sentence and shorthand also. It will be useful for them in there carrier

i aggree

It is very disheartening to receive a students paper that is half done with the text abbreviations and the other half done in somewhat of an organized paper. The school that I teach, stresses professionalism and especially in the department that I am in, writing properly is imperative. I feel that we are letting out children down by not "making" them write in a proper manner.

As instructors, we need to continually monitor and address the written skills of the younger generation. They will continue to use the "shorthand" version of written skills unless we guide them. They need to understand how easily their messages can be miscommunicated. They need to understand the importance of the audience and developing their message to meet the needs of the recipient.

I could not agree more. It may be expedient to rely on text and such, but professionalism in the work place is paramount to goo business.
