Meeting Minutes
I also think it is important to have someone (in a larger setting) take meeting minutes. it is a good practice to recap with what was discussed at the prior meeting. This is for people who cnduct weekly or bi-weekly meetings.
Meeting minutes are also a great way to meeting participants to review the information discussed during the meeting.
Good point. Examining the minutes of meetings over a larger time span can help track trends.
How would that build team awareness?
I think assigning some one to take the notes differently at the meetings also builds team awareness
I do the same thing. I do not recap for late comers, but I just forward the minutes and cover anything that is unclear on an individual basis.
I have found that minutes also serve as a great tool for tracking action items brought up by the team or as a reference for anyone who may have missed all or part of the meeting.
It is really a good idea to takek minutes, so that afterwards any misunderstanding is easily cleared up.
