Pressured
Sorry Jeffery, but I am being pressured into finishing before my next class which starts on Jan. 19th .
I would like to take more time with the course, but I will work on time management even after I finishe the course.
Contingency plans are vital for successful implementation of goals and objects.
Hey George,
I have to agree with you. Having time is also a difficulty. I can multitask efficiently and after finishing this course I realized that I have no issues with time management!
Don, I agree with you. I have at least two back-up plans just in case our class gets behind due to weather or emergencies.
Thanks, Don.
One thing that might help is to develop a series of independent learning plans that can be used to help individual students who miss a class catch up. They can also be used when you have cancelations to require students to do selected activities outside of class so that you do not feel like you have to do every activity you would have otherwise completed in class.
I teach were every class is three weeks long, then the course repeats with another group of students. Even though we make schedules for each day and adjust when needed for holiday's we can not anticipate issues such as weather and power outages. This creates additional pressure to complete the material by the end of the course even with the unanticipated loss of time. On thing that I have found that helps, if weather is the issue, planning even a day or two ahead to get ahead of schedule helps. Showing the student's that the situation is under control, and assurring them that they will still get the same quality of education in the shorted time is golden!
