Dealing with bottleneck supervisor
I understand that it is easier said than done when it comes to giving advice on how to deal with a boss that needs to approve everything.
When you have this problem and have used all of the methods for rectifying it what else can you do?
The bottlenecks get so big and you cannot get through to the boss so you feel it is impossible to make any progress on new projects.
I have heard of people called 'impossible people'. But when it is your boss or supervisor how can you solve this?
Thank you!
Mischa,
Perhaps you can find a diplomatic way to suggest that your boss that this course would be valuable for all at the campus.

I am sure I am not the only one who deals with a "micro-managing" boss. I have ran into more problems trying to discuss this problem with them. Where they are (I am guessing) better at overseeing/dealing with the more technical issues with everyday problems, it reduces my productibility when they need me to give report as to what I have accomplished today. This is a problem and I think my boss would GREATLY benefit from this course as I have. Thank you!
Bob,
I suggest being frank with the boss and asking if there projects for which he trusts you enough to allow you make the decision. If he still needs to approve everything, perhaps you can set a standing meeting with approvals as the focus.
