I think having a way to relieve stress is essential in hectic lives. For some people, it may be religion, mediation, and for others, it may be a hobby, such as gardening or reading. As long as it helps us relieve stress, it is useful. As long as the activity is not negative or destructive, of course.
Personal time - even very brief - is important - if not every day - then a few times a week.

I use my faith to get me through stressful times as well. Going to church on Sunday morning makes me feel centered and like I can breathe again. Something that I have to remind myself when I am starting to feel burned out on my job is that no matter where I am working, there will be stress. The thing that comforts me is knowing that God never leaves me.
