what not to promise to a potential student?

Guarantee to a potential student that he will pass his or her nclex exam.

Maria,
You are exactly right! There are no promises nor are there guarantees. We can provide opportunities, but in the end, success is an individual achievement.

Patty Aronoff

We in Admissions cant not promise students any passing of any test.Never guarantee its all up to the students hard work to pass their exams and class work.

Marlene,
We cannot promise employment. We do, however, provide placement assistance for all students. This process should start from day one in preparation for graduation and beyond.

Patty Aronoff

I's never a good idea to promise any employment upon graduation.

Marlene,

There are no guarantees for job placement. We can provide them services to assist them in getting interviews and advance preparation.

Patty Aronoff

We also cannot promise a potential student a job on oompletion of college.

Tuan,
We are required to provide placement services to assist them in locating a job after graduation.

Patty Aronoff

We guarantee of what we train them but there is no promise on job place and what they learn. We will try our best to help them find the job.

Cleophat,
No guarantees on job placement.

Howard,
Good advice!

NOT a good idea to mention that the training will allow them to open their own business! There are waaaay too many other factors involved such as financing, equipment, drive/motivation, securing a good location, hiring, advertising and promotion. If your student were to fail on any of these business start-up obstacles, it will automatically be your fault since you told them they could start their own business after graduation.

No promises.

Sometimes, they asked if you can guarantee them that they can find a Job. You cannot promise this either.

Patricia,
You are absolutely right.

You can't even promise the student they will learn anything, all you can say is the institution will teach them, but learning is entirely up to them and we can't guarantee they will do it, but we can guarantee we will teach them.

Patricia,
Absolutely not. Opening a business is a whole different situation.
No promises.

No, since you do not have an inside knowledge of the situation, the student may not be able or need a different pathway, the reality is that you are misrepresenting the school by telling them they can open their own business, you can add, "the student may be able to research what would they will need to start a business, but the training will not guarantee the ability to start their own business."

For students who have work experiences in the field, can you promise them that the training will allow them to open their own business.

Dominigue,
You cannot promise exam passing grades.
