Admission policies
One of the most important topics to be considered is the Admission policies. It is necessary to know policies and procedures used in evaluating previous education, what are the criteria used to evaluate and who is the responsible for this evaluation.
Allyson,
Our combined goal is for their success. We must always strive for that goal.
i definately agree some students do not want to admit they are not competent but that is our job to make sure they can handle the course.
LaVarne,
Explaining satisfactory academic progress, it's calculations and the consequence of not meeting it are very difficult at the time of enrollment.
LaVarne,
It can be overwhelming information for the student, but it must be covered and understood.
Julio,
Policies and procedures must be followed exactly. Another point for compliance.
Heather,
It is a requirement by CIE. There must be full-disclosure and transparency when enrolling.
All students should be informed about the Admission Policies at the time of enrollement. A copy of the Admission Policies should be given to student.
It is important to be very clear to your students in explaining the admission policies. Further, we need to make certain that they understand that if they do not meet the minimum - i.e. gpa requirement that they may be provisionally admitted to the program with the understanding that they must meet the school's requirement to continue in the program.
Julio,
Absolutely! It must be applied consistently and fairly.
