The Resource Notebook
I found that the concept of keeping a Resource notebook was a key part of not just training, but to the overall functions of the job. Updating this book is also a key part of the job. This is due to the well-announced fact that new information is constantly being obtained and admissions representatives need to be kept up-to-date with the institute changes.
Josue,
You are right on target! It should be the most read book on your shelf and the most cause to keep materials up-to-date. If it is not, it's value is lost and you are at risk of providing incorrect information.

The resource book, and diligent upkeep, can provide a strong resource for agents and admission reps on quality information related to guidelines and regulations. Time spent researching can be maximized by documenting findings and regulations, such that time is not spent finding these topics again and again. Our industry changes frequently and is highly regulated. Therefore, having an accurate and comprehensive resource of information can help us stay compliant and avoid potential mishaps. The resource book can include a listing of websites with vital information, along with a collection of print outs of frequently used items. While keeping a resource book is important, its value depends on the quality of input, and how it is used in the day-to-day.
Alvin,
You are exactly right. Thus, the need for continual training and updating the book.

I agree, keeping a notebook that has outdated information seems like an easy way to get yourself and your institution in trouble. Referring to outdated practices can land you in trouble so keep that book up to date!
Rhyan,
If the notebook's resources are not current, the book has lost its value.
