Marketing Strategies
I thought it was interesting how marketing strategies often change and how important it is to know how your institution is advertising for students. This particular topic struck interest with me because it made me realize that its very important to get your name out there and noticed but one must also be mindful of the fact that; the advertising that's being implemented lines up with regulations.
Gabriela ,
We need to stay the course on our target market. Today'smarketing strategies must constantly be reviewed to make sure we are not missing our "target."

anauris,
As admissions personnel, we need to have a full understanding of the prospective student's critical needs. Knowing more about the person you are enrolling can make the difference of a successful student from a drop. We look for success at every turn.

I defenitely agree that with marketing you should always keep in mind the tearget population for your school. As it was mentioned before the internet has now also become a huge part of our lives, however, I still believe that not all venues are appropriate for all institutions and this is something that we have to be mindful of.
We have to understanding the students and identifying their critical needs. Hear are some of my own point
1. How to determine what students think about their needs and your institution
2. How do students filter their college options, what factors do they weigh most, how you should respond in the recruiting process.
3. Learning the process of building brand identity
4. What admissions programs and services do students need and how can your college or university better meet that need.
Moira,
We are in a very dynamic sector of education which is an exciting place to be. Because of the educational climate, competition is high and our prospective students compare details.

Elliot,
Perception is key. Your integrity is held by action as well as perception.

Sometimes colleges get so caught up with implementing change that they fail to notify the public of their new offerings! These are great marketing gems that often get back-burnered for the "tangible" parts of the process but getting the word out quickly can have huge impact, especiially when the change is tied to something that can be returned by a search engine, driving more traffic to the site. It is important to carefully review all marketing for compliance but colleges should have a solid process in place for marketing campaigns to create consistency with their messaging.
I agree. You definitely need to know how your institution is being perceived to prospective students. And also to make sure all guidelines are met.
Fredrick,
I would agree. Marketing is successful only when it brings the right student through your doors and keeps them through to graduation.

Vanessa,
Many leads come from the internet. If we just take a moment to reflect how much time we spend on the internet, we can quickly see how this has impacted our lives.

Shauntay, the marketing stratgies are a very important part in setting the school up for success. It has to be detailed orientated, follow the current established rules and regulations of the institution while appealing to the target audience that the institution is trying to reach. During my time in the marketing field, I found this to be tough to do at times but very rewarding when a startegy actually works.
I completely agree! Now days the younger generation have their life revolving on the internet. What better way can they advertise a university? I also believe that TV will be a good marketing strategy.
I believe strongly in being up to date with technology, the younger generations live on the internet today. Marketing an institution today has a total different approach to what it used to be. So I agree totally in keeping it fresh and up to date.
The part that I found hard is the constant change and the amount of media out there...
Shauntay,
Marketing strategies need to be fresh and still capture hour target market. Extensive research is necessary to keep focused on your students and how they discovered you.
