Accreditation
Why is it that not all schools are required to be accreditated?
David,
Licensure means that your school has been approved by the Florida Department of Education to operate in the state of Florida by substantially meeting the requirements of law.
Accreditation is a voluntary association with an accrediting body that has additional standards that either meet or exceed those of the state. Accreditation is an extensive and expensive process that cannot be sought until the operational requirements are met for application. The accrediting bodies are not based out of Florida. Make sure the accreditation your school seeks is one that is recognized by the USDOE. Check out their website for important information about accreditation.

We have not yet become licensed by the Commission. We are in the process of developing and submitting the paperwork.
What is the difference between being licensed and being accredited?
Once licensed how long do we need to wait to be accredited? Who does the accreditation (Florida)
Asha,
Accreditation is voluntary. State licensure is mandatory in Florida. The USDOE does require schools to be accredited in order to receive Title IV funding for their students.
