Admissions Test

Should there be an Admissions test?

Mike,
Agreed! It is part of becoming a student and determining level of knowledge and capacity.

Patty Aronoff

Theresa,
Absolutely! The entrance test provides you valuable information. We want our students to be successful.

Patty Aronoff

I believe the admissions test is a great tool to ensure that a student has the ability to demonstrate that they have the basic tools to succeed. It's always a shame when a student is enrolled and makes a financial investment and then realizes that they are in over their heads. Even though an admissions test can seem basic, it does identify potential concerns before it is too late.

Testing can sometimes scare people but there is a real need to make sure the potential student can participate effectively in an active classroom. The entrance test can shine a light on areas in need of develoment therefore allowing us to have a more productive and successful student.

Adam,
We never want to set a student up for failure. An entrance test can determine their current knowledge and set a standard from which to follow.

Patty Aronoff

MARTHA,
Many schools use Wonderlic or a similar testing service. Any testing must be according to rule requirements and approved by the Commission.

Patty Aronoff

Agreed . Testing the knowlwdge is a good source to get to the bottom, and find the student skills

I believe the best way to determine a students college potential is by testing their current knowledge. After all Admission reps. should never set students up for failure.
