What is more effective?

What is more effective for admissions personnel in a private school without federal finacial aid? have a call script and a set introduction-presentation??
do yiu have the experience of anything different?

Penny,

Our institution is also private and does not offer financial aid but I have always found it helpful and resourceful for students to understand how financial aid truly works by explaining the difference between grants and loans. Most of the time, students understand the advantages to paying out-of-pocket with a payment plan compared to having to keep up with the payments of an high-interest loan. I agree with the level motivation present in students who pay out-of-pocket for their education.

Penny,

So many students think of federal financial aid as free money which the majority is not and has to be repaid. I do agree that having a personal investment in oneself does have a different, often stronger, commitment.

Our school is private without financial aid and I think the most important thing when speaking with prospective students is to give them a couple of different ways to be able to pay, either in payment plans or having a lender that they can work with. I also stress that because they are attending a private school, the students here are more motivated to show up and give 110% since it is coming out of their own pocket. This may or may not be true, but in our school, it does seem to make a difference.

Aurilus,
Having alternate sources of funding is very important to the student in order to find financing for their education.

I think a private lender is important. Also students can make payment plan.

Lilian,

Many schools are not Title IV eligible. Important in these cases is to have information available to finance their education, such a private lenders.
