Remote Admissions Advisor

I am a remote admissions advisor for an online school, and our system is now set up to meet all of the FL requirements with electronic files and document tracking. This makes it easier for me being remote, as paper files are no longer needed at the school. Everything is scanned and uploaded right into our system, keeping all student files organized and secure.

Andrea,
Not everyone has a comfort level with technology.

That's especially true in rural Florida; also I have found that some older students (over age 40)/students coming back to school are a bit apprehensive about their level of electronic savvy/would rather see and feel information in hard copy format.

Holli,
That is true, not everyone has computers and internet access.

Having worked with both paper and electronic I can absolutely agree that paperless is the way to go. However depending on the student, their location and access to a computer it can be challenging at times. I worked for a school a while ago that was entirely paperless and many of their students came from rural communiies and or no internet access. So I guess it depends on what will work best for you and your student demographics.

Courtney,
Going paperless is changing a culture, but you will be glad you did!

I work from a ground campus and we are currently moving away from paper files and going completely electronic. It is very exciting, as we will not be misplacing documents and/or flipping through filing cabinets to find a misfiled folder.

Daid,
Paperless is certainly helpful when working remotely. It provides an efficient way of tracking paperwork.
