Catelog
Most of us don't always read the schols catelog in full. I think it is a great tool to learn information about the school, programs, tuition and fees among other important items.
Florence,
If it were my school, I would make sure that every employee read the catalog. The catalog is part of the contract with the student. If my staff did not have a clue of what was stated in the catalog, they are placing the school at risk for non-compliance.
Patty Aronoff
i have come across some employees who has not even for once opened the catalog but still they work for the institution. in this case, will the institution make it compulsory for every employee so as to encourage them to read it?
Greg,
It becomes a way to develop your team while learning. Also by reading out load, the brain receives the information differently.
I agree, by taking bit by bit with others on your team or in your department you can discuss as you read and receive differerent interpretations of the information. This will assist in great group conversation and building a solid learning environment.
Douglas,
You now see the extensive requirements of CIE for the catalog.
Catalogs should be written is such a way as to provide a clear path to deeper levels of information. Once a student has his or her curiosity piqued, they normally want to "dig deeper" and will need clear direction on how to get more refined information.
Julio,
The catalog is the basis from which we operate. A very important document.
Julio,
Excellent point! All documents must match.
Jawaid,
My suggestion is to take it bit by bit. Start at the beginning and read it out loud during regular meetings. It is an effective way to learn the catalog.
And one more thing. Any time changes are made into the Catalog, it is necessary to review and revise many other institutional documents in order to maintain the coherence of the information comprised into those documents.
This is true, the problem is that often times there are several changes to a school catalog and the admissions representative must knowledge of these frequent changes.
Catalog is something as the main entrance to the Institution. It must provide the full information regarding the Institution and any person involved in the admission process must know it and understand it in full.
