The Admission process and paperwork

After completing this module I feel more confident talking with the students and sharing information with my co-workers in the admission department.

Hi Patty,

I definitely agree, I think the student actually appreciates it more when an Admissions Representative is up-front with the student and advises them that they do not know but will find out as they certainly do not want to provide wrong information to the student. In this case the student knows that representative is acting in their best interests.

Jenny ,
Your confidence will shine through when you know your stuff!

Patty - I agree. I think the potential students also appreciate this, at least I know I would if I were a student. I would rather someone take the time to find out the correct information - even if that meant it would take a few minutes, hours or days, than to provide me with false or inaccurate information. Especially when it entails information regarding making a big decision, like returning to school. Also, if a rep gives false information and the student has a bad experience - it's probably likely that the student will share this bad experience with others before they would share a good experience!

I feel the same...confidence is key!

Ryan ,

Saying that you need clarification or seek further guidance says so much more about you as a rep. You are willing to find out rather than give misleading information. Honesty and integrity!

I agree Patty, being open and honest builds relationships with your students and prospective students. Most would appreciate that you can admit that you are not sure rather than make something up that later proves to be false

Linette,

Good news! Your confidence will shine through! Don't worry about telling a student you need to get them more information. Better to be honest and say you'll find out.
