enrollment paperwork

sometimes we don't go over the paperwork where important initials and signatures are required then we must have the student return to do it at orientation etc. I like to use a yellow highlighter and highlight all areas where initials and signatures are needed and it's easy to see if it's been done with the highlighters. The checklist is also helpfull before you exit your process with the student

Tamara,
I can't tell you how many times a student said they didn't and we show them where they initialled. Great tool.

Patty Aronoff

Having a checklist is a great idea, but having the student intial it is an even better idea because it also shows them the importance of what they are doing and holds them accountable as well on providing the information that is needed and staying on task. Great idea!!

Sameea ,

Checklists are a great way to keep files consistent and compliant. A super tool!

I think utilizing a check list is an excellent tool to staying on task and keeping track of all documents.

Theodore,
The more checks and double checks are key to compliance.

Patty Aronoff

Yeah, our director always double checks our EAs because it's surprising how often something will go unnoticed.

Ahmed,

My suggestion is to take the regs and the forms and place them side by side. You will have a clearer understanding with this approach.

Patty Aronoff

Checklists and highlighters are helpful, but getting very familiar with your forms helps a lot also.

Leonardo,

There are many out there, so do your research before purchasing.

Is there any commerical software in the market that will aid in the documentation and compliance of the admissions process?

Jacqueline,

A great idea in providing a copy of the checklist to the student. It's a good reminder of what is completed and what is due.

Harry,

Checklists are a great tool. You can quickly see if you have missed a particular form. I use a highlighter as well to ensure we capture every signature and date.

Good morning! I'm new to this job field. But I have learned a lot with this course, and I found that by placing the checklist on the left side of the students file, so that I see it every time I open the file, has worked very well for me. My list has a place for the student to initial that it was turned in and a place for my initials showing that I have received them. That way I can see if the student owes me any documents, or viceversa. When everything is completed, I give the student a copy of that checklist.
