fines for institutions

I agree that the institutions should be fined if they 'break the rules' however, these fines arent as hefty as they should be. There are a lot of sketchy places out there still and I believe that if the fines were higher, there would be less to worry about.

Elizabeth,

Under the provision of the law, they may issue cease-and-desist orders and turn the case over to the state Atty. Gen. for prosecution.

How does the Commission handle schools that don't bother getting licensed?

I would have to agree with her. Too many people get taken advantage of and those make shift schools get money and the students who thought they were getting something legitimate have no way of getting recourse. If fines were higher maybe we would have less shams out there posing themselves as the real deal. Now if the comission could find those particular schools and pose hefty fines to them, or somewhere we could report mills of that nature would be nice!

Cristen,
Many would agree with you! The Commission has the ability to impose sanctions up to and including loss of license.
