Admissions Requirements
It is very important to know the admissions requirements for your institution. You cannot let your personal opinion on the applicants potential for success hinder the acceptance process.
Matthew,
Admissions is either black or white. There is no gray area. As we are conducting a legal contract every aspect is outlined the direction and purpose.
Patty Aronoff
In the end, admissions should be very black and white. Each student either meets the qualifications or they don't. It should be a very simple decision that is unbiased or clouded with emotion or judgement. There is no gray area in what we do.
Jorge,
Being objective and unbiased gives the student an opportunity to have transparency and honesty in their conversation with you. Ultimately it is their decision, which is their own future..
Patty Aronoff
I believ this statement to be true. This is why admissions advicors have to be objective and unbiased. That is why qualifications are qualifications and they have to be adhered too strictly in order to avoid this bias.
Ana,
The admissions requirement is a rule that you must follow to the letter. It's the admissions requirements that make sure there is equality for all.
Patty Aronoff
Admissions requirements are important for both the student and the advisor. If the student does not meet the admissions requirement they will not be able to enroll into the institution. It is important to cover this when speaking with prospective students.
Jonathan,
Thank you! Most times in admissions we provide an overview of the program in the initial interview. The tour of the campus comes next and we meet with the instructor. That's where all the details come out.
Patty Aronoff
David,
It depends on how your admissions requirements are written. If it is open enrollment and there's no requirements for admissions then there's really nothing to fall back. Your catalog would be your guiding resource in this instance.
Patty Aronoff
Hello Patty,
First and Foremost, thank you for allowing us to be able to take the course.
In regards to admissions and requirements, I feel that it is necessary to know each and every aspect of the institution so that a prospective student is fully aware of the course.
What methods do you think will help the admissions team when explaining a course to a prospective student without overwhelming them with a massive amount of information?
If the school comes across a problematic student. Can it refuse to enroll that student into the course. Like a restaurant that refuses to give a customer service. If so is there anything that needs to be documented or filed.
Brittany,
Admissions requirements are compliant strict. We must follow every step along the way and make sure that all documents are completed appropriately.
