Your Own Knowledge
I feel my IMMEDIATE recall of institutional knowledge is a 9 out of 10. I keep my resource book handy when I am uncertain about a policy or procedure. I expect my immediate knowledge to always be at a 9 out of 10 because our institution is a living, breathing organization -- growing, maturing and refining our programs, policies and procedures over time. So I expect that there will always be some piece of information that I just wont be able to put my finger on at a moment's notice. I'm comfortable with that but only because I intend to have that information available in my resource book.
Duston,
Congratulations! Continue to expand your knowledge by sharing it with others.

I would rate my knowledge about our institution at a high level. I have worked in each department over the last three years and I have become very familiar with the instruction our staff provides to each student. With this knowledge, I'm able to clearly convey the expectations to any prospective student.
Donard,
There is always something to learn. We learn from everyday activities and from the students that progress through the programs.

Even though I still need to refresh and go to seminar from time to time I think that I know my institution pretty well in every aspect.
Jeffrey,
Postsecondary education is a very dyanmic world. We must work hard to keep up with regulations and new trends in education to stay competitive.

Tuan,

I know my institution fairly well. I have been employed here 4-1/2 years and have worked on many admissions and marketing projects. I have also worked on policy projects, exposing myself to higher level issues, too.
However, education is a complicated business with changing regulations, so I constantly have more to learn.
I've been with this institution for 1 year and I feel I know my institution very well. I also learn a lot from this course too. Thanks!
Gail,
The more you can involve yourself with opportunities to learn more about your programs and the careers of interest.
I rate my knowledge on the higher scale. I can always do more, especially to contact prospective employers to see what they are looking for with respect to hiring our graduates. I recently studied the entire programs we offer. It gave me a wealth of knowledge, as far as helping the students with any questions or concerns they may have.
Michael,
Excellent! Share the knowledge with others.
Maya,
We often think we know the catalog, but it is ver beneficial to revisit it regularly. We can all fall into the trap of assumption.
Maya,
Reading the catalog should be a regular experience. Many people are amazed what they discover.
I feel that I know my school and the programs they offer very well. But after reading through this session, I will make a point to go review our catalog and program guidelines. You can never have too much knowledge.
I would rate my knowledge about my institution as very high. They have provided me with a wealth of resource materials to aid me with my questions.
Traci,
You bring a wealth of knowledge in training your staff. Awesome!
I know my institution very well. I wrote the student handbook. I was a lot of hard work and research but in the end, i will be the one training my admissions staff.
Jill,
You bring important advice to us all. No matter how much or how long we have learned, there is still more waiting.
I feel I know my institution very well. I have worked here for 8 years now and I see how all departments tie in to one another. I believe it is very important for everyone to understand that about any institution. Although I have been here for 8 years, I am always learning new things! :)
