David,
The more we know our institution, the better we can represent it.
I have been with this institution for 2 years and have been through several training programs. Everything is measured and evaluated. My industry knowledge has been useful as well. Knowing our institution well has become a requirement and not an option. This offers credibility when discussing educational and career goals with the student.
Dale,
Staff are great resources to learn more about your school.
Christopher,
History tells the story of what you are, where you've been and your success. I like your statement of each student adding their own piece.
I would rate my knowledge of my institution as very good. The training I received introduced me to all aspects of our history. It is essential to understand this history and add to it in a positive manner for all of our students. Each student will add their piece to the history of the institution. The history of the institution provides the foundation for future growth.
i rate it very well ive only been here a short period of time but i know the staff is very knowlegeable
Ivy,
You will be able to answer some of the questions students have as to what is next.
Meghan,
Training has to be continual and we can never think that we know it all. Sometimes we become to comfortable and misinform.
I have joined an undergrad school after working at a grad school. I am still learing too!
I do feel great about it!
This is a great question and has come to light recently with my institution. The only way to become better at what we do (especially in Admissions) is product knowledge. There has been a noticeable shift in the way the materials are presented, and our students are a lot more knowledgeable and cautious than they used to be. The only way to serve our students better is to familiarize ourselves with our institution and the programs. Recently my institution has incorporated more weekly product knowledge trainings in order to keep us up to date with each program. One training a week is hardly enough time to get to know a program or institution. It has to be an ongoing process. We are constantly learning something new. Even representatives that have been employed 2+ years are still learning. I would rate my knowledge on my institution around a 7 or 8 on a scale of 1-10. I have been employed with the company for a year and a half and still learning something new everyday. There's so much to learn that it may take a couple times of hearing it for it to actually sink in and commit to memory.
Gwendolyn,
April 11th! Keep on learning!
Well, I'm relatively NEW to ATI...my first day was April 11th! What I know for sure is that "it feels right". It was important how I felt when I walked through that front door for the first time and I am determined to do all that's in my power, to ensure that current and prospective students as well as all of my collegues here at CAMPUS 140 are, affected by my positive energy.
That's definite knowledge I can rate NOW...all the rest is increasing, each and every day!
Jaime,
Keeping up with all the state regs is a challenge. Best of luck!
Robin,
Good thoughts! Keep on learning!
Jamie,
You certainly have much to keep up with considering you have schools across the country. Is your curriculum standardized?
Me too Linda! I am amazed at how much I have learned in the short two weeks I have been here, yet feel that I could be here for two
years and still be learning daily!
Content and policies change regularly and I feel that I am familiar with all of our schools nationwide. Knowledge of the programs and what each campus offers is very important but making sure that we take advantage of any refresher that is offered is key.
Ronald,
You are well on your way.
