The Role of the Admissions Representative
The role of the admissions rep is to have an understanding of both the training programs and student services at your institution. Directors in all departments are great resources for institution information and should be contacted regularly.
Mercy,
You should have a title of director of first impressions. But first interaction is so crucial to the outcome of the student experience

I am the first person the student interacts with when they come to our school. Therefore, I am the first impression the student gets about our institution. Keeping up with all of the school information and being able to answer questions is one of the keys to get more students to enroll in our school and have them also tell others to join as well.
Mercy
Michael,
Surveys are one tool. Try to gather feedback from other sources to provide well rounded information.
Patty Aronoff
Surveys after the end of an information session has been a great way for my institution to gauge students needs
Christina,
As admissions representatives, we should all be good listeners. We cannot fully understand our clients if we do not actively listen.
Patty Aronoff
great marketing strategies come from being an great listener that helps remind me what information I should know or have readlily available.
rosaura,
Surveys are a great tool as well. Thanks for the suggestion.

Elery,
Keep on learning by asking questions and visiting other departments

I agree this is the best and easiset way to get to know your institution. Another way to get to know your institute at a deeper level and through the students perspective could be with surveys. surveys can tell you a huge amount about what matters to them. They see the institution
from a different perspective than those employed in it. They will be able to tell you which institutions they regard as your competitors and why they chose you over them.
Yes, I cannot emphasize how important the role of the admissions representative is. They are the life blood of the institution. It is important that they be knowledgable about the rules and regulations of your school and they they communicate this effectivly with prospective students.
When I first started at my institution I was able to receive a wealth of information through our school tours and also our school open houses for students. I then was able to meet and greet all my new colleagues and was able to make contact with them in order follow up with them in the future. Being a High School Recruiter I knew that contact with them would be vital in order to promote their programs.
Andrew,
This is true! Honesty, integrity, and knowledge lead the way to success.
