What is offered at your school?
Product knowledge combined with great customer service will only make you a more efficient Admissions Rep. Researching as much as you can about all the different programs that your school offers by talking with the program directors, will give you a strong foundation. This foundation is what your prospective student will grasp on when you are delivering your information session. Being knowledgeable and knowing how to deliver the information will help create a great bond between you and the prospective student.
Naldy,
That is awesome! The school should continue to work with the students long after they graduate. After all they are our strongest resource.

We offer several different programs, student services and career placement. One of my favorite services offered is the career retraing. The ability for our students to come back and take refresher courses.
brittany,
You bring an excellent point forward. We need to have active listening skills in place when working with a student. Not everyone is forthcoming in their questions or fears.

Joann,
Communication at the campus needs to be solid in the service of the students. Knowing the departments work together speaks volumes.

Not only is the product knowledge super important to your conversations and being credible to the student, but listening to what aspects they have in mind is also very important. You can spill product knowledge to a student all day, but if this information has nothing to do with the student then it won't matter to them in the slightest.
In order to remain credible to your prospective student you should listen to what they think is important and delve through your product knowledge to best fit their needs. The student comes first. Use your product knowledge and all that you have learned about other schools to mold to the students needs/wants.
along with consistent converstaions we key faculty and staff members enhances knowledge.
Alejandro,
Product knowledge is your foundation in admissions. You will be depended upon to provide solid and extensive information to the student.
