Co workers
How can I help my coworkers to understand what the program offers because I completed what our institution offers?
Deni-Maire,
It takes an entire school to create a graduate. We all have a part to play in their journey from new student to graduating students.

Many departments tend to get caught up in their department functions that they forget the student process through school involves EVERY department working together and handing off transition smoothly. Make sure that each department understand how programs work - the ins and outs, be it the actually courses offered, to the cost, to the regulations, to job fields - everything is like a machine that comes together to help the student learn and understand what they are doing in their education and eventually their career. Remind your colleagues that they wouldn't have gotten where they were without the help of someone or a department that understood the step they were about to be taking.
Donna,
Knowledge is power! It provides great customer service and focusing on the student as a customer.
Patty Aronoff
Stress to them the importance of being as knowledgeable as possible if they want to be a great asset to the department and the prospective student.
Justin,
It is amazing what you will learn! Keep up the great ideas!
Patty Aronoff
That's a really neat idea. I like the thought of being able to speak to your co-workers about product knowledge. Especially since they are doing the exact same thing you're doing.
LeAnn,
Regular training in admissions is a common best practice.

Sarah,
Products knowledge is critical in admissions. We are better in our customer service delivery when we know what we are taking about.
Patty Aronoff
We have frequent 'in service' and staff meetings to keep each department in the loop and in communication about our admissions procedures. This helps with keeping us compliant and with communication.
Best practice is that my admissions staff would get together weekly to discuss a product knowledge topic such as text books, classroom subjects, attendance prolicy, etc. The staff liked learning the ins-and-outs of the program and I liked how they were able to inform our potental students on why our school may be a good choice on their academic journey.
Tyler,
Encourage them to seek out information in the classrooms and speak with instructors. Getting the whole school involved in product knowledge is important in advancing admissions.
