Student Services
I think student services is a very important piece, to help students and help with retention. Do all schools have student services?

Student services can be the defining factor on whether a student stays in school or drops out. We can't fix everything in the world but we can be a resource to help them.

I find that Student Services are a major key factor to keeping up to date with students. Relationships built, communication established and the understanding that we are there to help. This allows road blocks to be seen before they come, and plans made to work around if one should come. Building relationships with your students is key, keeping them attentive and focused, but also providing consistent support and recognition. Student Services provide that energy and attention students sometimes need to keep them pushing towards the goal they came to achieve.

Not All schools have students services. But all school staff should be able to help students find resources when they have life challenges that could possibly take them out of school.

Not all schools have a student services department, however staff can be knowledgeable in the community resources available in order to assist their students

The Student Services staff, offer service to students, even after completing the degree.
Not all schools have Student Services but it is a great benefit for students.
