Negative Advertisement
How can we prevent and fight bad mouth on our school?
Yudiely,
We must feel valued in every aspect of the campus life. When we are not respected or valued then we ask ourselves why continue.

I believe that one of the best marketing strategies to advertise your university is to make each individual feel valued: students, alumni, staff, faculty, sponsors.
John ,
We can't solve everyone's problems. But we can provide great customer service. Customer service is what will take you to new heights

Solving or trying to fix a negative perception on your school can be a tough job...
But as stated below ensuring that you are doing everything in the best way is the first step, ensuring policies and processes are followed correctly and most importantly-students first
secondly, a good PR/RM campaign highlighting the positives about your school over social media/news/TV spots can also generate a positive outlook on your institution/push negative sentiment away while also advertising what you have to offer
Marivel,
Word-of-mouth is the best advertisement. It speaks volumes about your school and gives instant credibility. This is where many schools get referrals based on word-of-mouth advertising.

Chris,
Your school should have a grievance policy in the catalog. There should be an avenue for students to contest grades or other activities on campus. The procedure should be followed giving true to the investigation.

I agree. Great service to your students is of extreme importance. I believe this simple philosophy will help to reduce these issues from arising. It will be also productive to figure out why the student had a bad experience, and try to correct it if possible.
Continue to speak good about the school. Encourage your students to talk to their friends and family about he great time that they have at the school.
I agree. I think it is important that the students are aware that they have the option to discuss any concerns in an environment where they feel "safe". Students are sometimes afraid that complaining will affect grades or the treatment they receive.
Joel,
You are right! Positive experience is the best advertisement. We tend to share positive experiences with others which can turn into a personally developed lead.
Patty Aronoff
The best way to do this would be to provide an excellent experience to those you interact with. I would also encourage individuals to address the concerns prospective students may have and share with upper management so that they can be more proactive in resolving some of the issues or concerns that are discussed.
Ursule,
The only way I know is to provide excellent service to our students. There are two ways that people share information one when they have a bad experience and the other when they have a great experience. I don't know anyway to stop it other than creating more positives than negatives.
