meetings

what should be a good topic for meetings?

MARTHA,
Retention is so important even to admissions staff. It is one point to have enrollments, but in order for a school to be successful, they must stay, graduate, and get placed.

Patty Aronoff

Retention is great topic ,recruitment sources in order to find the weekness of marketing

Mitch,
Agendas are very important for recordkeeping and efficiency.

Patty Aronoff

I will tell you that when I started using agendas, my world changed for the better. It helped me prepare for the meeting and it help me and the team stay on target with the objectives. It also allowed the team to know what we were going to talk about and my meetings run more efficiently than ever.

Theodore,
Trivia is a great idea! We have played a game similar to Jeopardy to test their knowledge. Admissions staff are usually very competitive and its a great way to learn.

Patty Aronoff

Trivia is a good idea. Sometimes I wonder if some of us get a little too dependent on the literature in front of us instead of actually learning the material. Role playing works well too. Also discussing issues that constantly come up between students and representatives should be addressed.

Scott,

Very good! You have named the key areas for discussion.

Patty Aronoff

vanessa,
Yes, of course. In setting meetings, most people like quick informative meetings.

Last weeks achievements / This weeks standings / next weeks goals / Training in areas of opportunity

we don't have meetings that often should i suggest that to my staff members so that we can develope new plans and ways ?

Spencer,

Yes, I change up my departmental meetings by having a different person take the lead. It brings new interest.

Patty Aronoff

Also, if in your particular institution there is a regular meeting that has an agenda that stays the same, try to mix up the presentation style to keep it fresh. That way, you'll continue to engage attendees and not make it a chore to sit through!

ricardo,
Meetings should vary. I always like to change it up, to deliver the unexpected. Trivia. Hands-on exercises. Q&A.
