Knowing which addreditation your institution has is half the battle. If you have multiple programs at your school it is equally important to know which programs are accredited as well.

Nothing is more frustrating than contacting a representative of an institution who doesn't convey the knowledge or expertise. It's vital to continue to educate yourself as the institution representative to share that knowledge and expertise with your prospective student.

What do employers consider more important...if the prospective employee has a degree from an accredited educational institution or whether the prospective employee has certain certifications attained?

Agreed! Accreditation is very different whether it is institutional or programmatic. The matter what make sure that the accreditation is recognized by US DOE.
