Marketing

What other way would you market school besides commercials, presentations and billboards?

Social Media is the way to go. Possibly posting stories on facebook about sucess stories and putting up notices on twitter. It'd be an easy hire to have someone work on just that area.

I have to agree. When you look at it from a prospective student/ consumer point of view word of mouth is definately the most effective method. Consumers realize that all advertisements are just a way to get you to entice you to pay for a product or service, but if they recieve the same positive information from a friend or family member that is surely going to leave a more lasting impact on them. Make the most of every interaction!

Social Media has been a big hit for our school and has increased students at the booths. They will see a representative at a conference near them and contact us to try to found out how they can meet the rep at the conference. It also is a good way to keep the students updated on current information, events and etc...

Social media is another way that your school could market. Facebook and Twitter are the two most popular social media markets out there.

I enjoy marketing, however I am a new rep to a local career college. I am sure there are many regulations about advertising your career college on the internet.

You could always include your school in your favorites on your facebook. Encouraging your facebook friends to visit your school may serve to be highly benificial.

Direct Mail marketing via postcards, or information in a direct mail pulication may be useful.

Flyers may also work to the schools benifit.

There is no better advertising than positive word of mouth. Provide exceptional customer service and ask your students for referrals.

Jorelle,

You need to be careful when using career building sites for marketing. In accordance with Ohio Administrative Code section 3332-1-12(H), schools are not permited to place school ads in employment specific media/internet classifications. Thus, school ads should not appear in under internet search classifications like "job opportunites".

I believe that it is a great idea for some Marketing to be done with the large number of career building sites. There are massive amounts of people flooding in all over the world to search for available job opportunities. It appears that the potential students all exemplify some sort of desire to fill a gap in their life; so I believe plugging into Assistance providing programs would be beneficial to reaching prospective students.

I love brainstorming marketing strategies.

I have found that PDLs are a great marketing tool; if I take good care of each and every student I enroll, they will hopefully speak highly of me and of my school, and when they run into either a friend or acquaintance (or anyone, anywhere), they will hopefully give them my name, knowing that I will take good care of them as well.

When I meet people anywhere I happen to be, I listen to what they are saying to me; If there is a need expressed re education and a subject matter that our school teaches, I will let them know about it, offer my card, and invite them to give me a call.

I would love to hear other ideas.
