Agents are not counselors

Our job as agents is to represent the admissions process, not to counsel students, we are to explain the admissions process in detail and answer any admissions qeustions

Although students sometimes think of us as advisors or councelors, we cannot take on those titles as agents and must always be careful how we come across to students as to not cross the line.

I disagree, if you are doing your job we are counselors to a degree. When someone sits down with me about going to school, I have a moral obligation to do what is right for my student. If a particular program isn't for that student it is my job to counsel them on what would be better. It is a injustice to the student to do other wise.

I agree, although I find that it is hard for the students to understand. They seem to attach to the first contact person they had with the school. When newly enrolled students have an issue, they seem to ask for the admissions rep that they are familiar with. All the more reason for knowledge about who to send them to for proper counseling.
