Inspect what you expect....

When reviewing admissions enrollment paper it is imperative to not only review paperwork in detail but also to make sure that each area requiring a student's acknowledgement, signature or initials has been completed.

I am just coming out of a week of admissions training, and this is one of my major focuses right now. I am almost overwhelemed by all the papers to be completed and process to follow in order to complete forms correctly. Obviously, we do not want to have to keep calling students to come to our campuses to fill or refill out forms- so I am going to make this one of my major goals- to make sure we get it right and complete the first time around!

I think we can all agree it's better to be pro-active rather than re-active. Especially when it comes to dotting our "i's" and crossing our "t's". Not to mention, it looks pretty unprofessional when you have to call a student BACK in for more paperwork because YOU missed something. Our job is to make this process flow, and hopefully make it easy on the student and their family.

I also agree. It's a lot easier to solve the problem before it becomes one. Also, I would go on to say, be sure that everything that requires a student's signature is understood by the student. We have a responsibility to make sure that the paperwork is correct, but we have an equal or greater responsibility to the student. They need to have everything explained to them so that they can make an educated decision about whether or not they agree with it.

I agree. Catching mistakes early can save a lot of time, both for us and the student.
