High School Student
Can high school student take classes, in career schools, before the graduate?
I agree with the above comment, in order to be eligible to attend Remington College a High School Diploma or GED is required to start.
I agree that having a student be able to participate in college coursework will prepare them for future success.
Along with PSEO opportunities for high school students some organizations have scholarships that they give to senior students to where they can also take classes during their high school years. These scholarships unlike PSEO do not require the state or home high school to "foot the bill" so to say and the institution takes care of the cost as long as the student meets the eligibility requirements. The courses offered through the scholarship are often transferrable to other institutions to give the student additional opportunities.
This is an outstanding way for high school student to gain some perspective and take collage classes to prepare them for their next journey.
Years ago, when I was a high school student, I was able to take a few college courses for credit. This allowed me to figure out better what I wanted to study, as well as which college I wanted to study at. There seems to be a rising trend in offering this Credits in Escrow option. Does anyone else have thoughts on this?
As long as they have a GED or proper High school educatjional training for what they want to go into. Additional schooling may be required.
ladd,
In some cases, yes. If the student is under the age of eighteen you would need to get permission from the parent/guardian. For Ohio students there is also a program (Post-Secondary Enrollment Options) that allows high school students to enroll and receive credit for college level courses. These programs are usually set up through an agreement between the local high school and individual colleges.
