Knowing your Stuff!!!!

I think it is very vital to your job as well as the institution for you to know every aspect of what you do in admissions. Sometimes the best experience can come from being a previous student or current.

I agree! I love the idea of sitting in on classes and weekly meetings with other departments to make sure admissions is as knowledgeable as they can be.

Without question!. It is critical that you know
every aspect of admissions, this prepares for any type of question. Product knowledge is essential for success and your student will have more confidence in the school.

I plan on visiting with staff and asking to sit in on a class or two to familiarize myself with the subject and the teacher. Class experience is key.

I thought the best advice from this training on knowing your school and its offerings is actually taking the time to experience what the students do. I feel that it is vital for my ability to explain the school and its programs that I see what students go through in their studies on any given day, this means visiting a campus and experiencing it myself.

I agree it is very important for an admissions representative to be fully informed about program offerings. As a rep, you are the first point of contact and you want to make sure that you can answer all of the potential student's questions.

The knowledge of the admissions representative I believe has a big impact on the conversation with the prospective student. Full understanding of programs and offerings allows the representative to be confident and clear with any information the student needs.

I agree & as we went thru this training I thought it was a great idea to sit in on a class to experience it from the position of a student.

I believe that it is not just vital but absolutely necessary to know the rules, laws, regulations, policies and procedures as they related to your role in Admissions. I also agree that the student's perspective maybe valuable. I believe it is vital to also know about each functional area and their roles within your organization.
