credit transferring

Not knowing whether your credits will transfer is very frustrating. It makes you wonder whether the classes you took actually mean something to a future position within a company.

It is always best to check with the school about their policy on transferring credits, since policies change from school to school its best to get this information up front so you do not have the feeling that you have wasted you time.

I completely agree. Many students or potential students get frustrated if they cannot transfer credits because they feel that they have wasted their time. If you are transferring into a different institution within the same family, then yes, all credits should be transferrable ( or accepted)..

Agree on the frustration of credit transfers. Not only is it a let down to a transferring student but it is a financial burden to pay for similar courses and then have to repeat the process at the next school.

I think a big part of whether or not credits can be transferred is not only if the schools have similar accredidation but also if the classes/programs of study are similiar. If the classes at one school are completely different than another school that you're planning on transferring to, then I can definitely understand why the credits wouldn't transfer.

Credits received in a school that is part of a family of schools should be tranferable to a different school within that same family.

good point. Typically it is up to the institution as to what credits they will accept, with no consistent policies across the country. Can be frustrating for the student and the admissions rep.
