Do the right things even when no one is watching
What are some of the benefits of doing the right things when no one is watching?
Knowing that what you are doing is going to benefit the person you're talking too.
Any misrepresentation will get you in the end
At the end of the day, your integrity is one thing that no one can take from you. Being honest, and doing things the proper way is the only way to do things. It's how I would want to be treated, so I treat others this way.
Your confidence in your actions never needs to be second-guessed when you consistantly perform in the correct manner. It doesn't matter if someone is watching you or not. The benefit of course is that when someone IS watching, you need not change anything about the way you do things.
Aside from compliance reasons, it goes back to the golden rule. You should always treat people the way you would want to be treated. If I were the individual or prospective student on the other end I would want things to be done and said honestly and properly. It is always best to act as if someone is always monitoring you so there is no chance of straying from where you should act. It is what the student deserves, and what I would expect if I were that person.
No matter what, doing the right thing whether it is known or not, is important to me. Integrity and consistency as an instructor is paramount in my book. I like knowing regardless of the situation, I can feel confident that I adhered to a policy and carried out a protocol fairly.
Its important to do the right thing even when no one is watching. When you take the time to do your best, it gives you a sense of "self-pride". That self pride radiates and people will notice that you are an exceptional employee. This will add legitimacy to your institution. Which will intern minimize compliance issues.
One should always try to do the right things! Sometimes when no one is watching it could be tough to do the right thing especially when the other option could be easier but thats where your integrity comes in to be able to to chose the right thing.
