Great point, Christine. I'm curious however, are there times when the Millennials should follow the lead of other generations, too?
For example, I sometimes hear Baby Boomers getting frustrated by the assumption that Millennials don't work as hard and want everything handed to them.
Or should we all just accept that's how they are?
Yes, I believe that the Millennial generation may feel the intrusion from the "older generations", but at the same time, the other generations must "keep up with the times" to stay current. Either way, especially in a school setting, everyone must learn to adapt with the others in their class. I do respect the "older generations" following the trends of the "newer generations" and I think, for the most part, the Millennials embrace the rest of the generations following their lead.
Hello Christine. These are great insights to the Millennial generation. Do you ever find in your work with students from this generation that they view the "older generations" as intruding on their "space" when we enter their world (i.e. Facebook or other social sites)?
The use of social networking sites, email, and technology are the best communication tools when I need to contact the Millenial generation students that I know. I understand that they like to hear positive feedback constantly, and if I can communcate with them regularly via email, text, or online messaging, I get better results and faster responses from them.
