Shared accountability is being used effectively in my organization. We win as a team and we lose as a team. there is no pointing of figures when things do not work out. We brainstorm and find solutions when a project or task did not work out.

WE HAVE DIFERENCE GENERATION AND DIFERENCE LEARNIG STYLE, FOR THAT REASONS WE LIKE TO USE LEAD BY EXAMPLE WHEN WE ANALICES A STUDENT CASE.I REALLY LIKE TO USE DIFFERENCE OPINION TO TRAY DIFFERENCE WAY.

Janet,
This sounds like an effective approach for your organization. Have there ever been circumstances when it hasn't worked out as planned though?

Dr. Jean Norris

Our company doesn't focus on who made a mistake or who is responsible for a failure. It believes that addressing the issue in an objective way it's more important than blaming someone. This approach allow us to share responsibility in creating solutions. Our commitment with a mutual goal motivate us to express ourselves freely.

Kathryn,
It is nice that your input is being considered. Do you feel there is collaboration? Are you saying there needs to be more assessments? How will these things help you and your school?

Dr. Jean Norris

needs assessments, employee and customer surveys seem always to be circulating, so I know our input is being measured, can't wait to see the results -----collaboration?

So are you saying that you currently have regularly scheduled meetings that allow collaboration or are you saying that is what you don't have but need?

Dr. Jean Norris

We need regulary meetings and apropiate oganization to collaborate eficiency and proactivw

Cinthia,

Can you help me understand specifically how your team collaborates with students?

Dr. Jean Norris

Our team work collateral with ours estudent

Congratulations to you and your staff for making a positive impact on your students!

Dr. Jean Norris

It has nothing but positive impacts. When I do DOA 2nds I hear all the time about how students chose our campus due to how friendly the staff was and how everyone just helps each other. Students (prospective or current) can feel when things are cohesive and when they are not.

Congratulations to your team for stepping up to the plate to serve your students. How do you think this teamwork and collaboration has impacted the students and their outcomes?

Dr. Jean Norris

Principal #4. My team has worked hard to make the student experince better. They have stepped up since we no longer have a student services coordiator. They now take care of car pool, pre-registration events, DOA 2nds, etc, and are always looking for ways to improve processes. I have 2-3 'leaders' on my team that brainstorm ideas and then bring me the best ones to see what we can implment and how.

It looks like the culture of your organization encourages collaboration and team work, which is wonderful! How did you learn what it takes to motivate the other members of the team?

We are a pretty small office and each one of the departments has to work effectively with one another. We have a variety of different ages and each one of us works very well at communicating with eachother. I feel we know eachother so well that were almost like a family. We have a good understanding what it takes to motivate different individuals to do an effective job.

I get the sense that your school encourages teamwork and collaboration allowing everyone to get involved. Aside from the strong communication skills you mention, what other principles of collaboration do you think helps to keep your team open and successful?

I think that for our school continuing to use all principles of collaboration will continue to enhance our job productivity. We have a strong group and we work and communicate very well. I think that the importance of getting everyone involved and providing respect for all parties involved has truly help us be succesful.

Thank you for sharing your practices Sharis - both look like a great way to encourage collaboration!

Every Friday we have an all staff meeting and discuss issues from each department. Every day we have a five minute stand up meeting inter departmental or email goals and questions. Both of these allows us to share news deal with conflict and keep everyone on the same page.
