Principles of Communications

I try to focus on the student. I also alternate my eye contact to any one else that is with the student such as family members.

gabriela,
This is very true as well. Those people who came with your prospective student are part of the decision-making process. Making sure they are all engaged is essential. How else might you do this outside of eye contact?

when i have a student and other people are present i use to tend to just focus on the student. i have to remember to keep eye contact with everyone in the room. if they are in the room it is because they must be important to the student. i need to make sure everyone is being acknowledged.

I try to manage this as well. I find it a balancing act of eye contact between each person in the group. However, I think that with most groups thier is a mutual understanding that you are trying to incorporate everyone in the group and not be rude.

It is great you putting into practice what you learned...

Linette,
Nice! Do you find this difficult to do?
