Disabilities Service Coordinator

Does each campus need to have a Disabilities Service Coordinator? If not, who is typically handling these responsibilities at the campus level?

At our campus I would like to have our student services director or DOE be responsible for the functions of the disabilities service coordinator.

Roy,
Yes, you are correct. It's important to keep the role out of the admissions department-for obvious reasons. Many times the role falls within Student Affairs/Services or Academic Affairs.

Matthew ,
Yes, there should be a designated Disability Services Coordinator for every campus. This doesn't mean that this is the person's primary role-for instance, at some of our campuses, the Dean of Student Affairs, Academic Advisor, or other position also functions as the DSC.

A Specific individual with a title of Disability Services Coordinator does not need to be hired. This can be an additional job Duty. Typically it is the Campus President or someone in Education
