It's imperative that we are all aware of everything that needs to be done to accommodate their needs.

It is important that you understand the "civil rights" nature of the laws involved here. Your statement here sounds more like a K-12 "special ed" response than that of someone working with adults at the college level. The responsibility it to make sure students have access to opportunity, and that may include providing accommodation. But we aren't providing accommodation to facilitate their success. It isn't OUR responsibility to do FOR them; rather, we provide accommodation to assure access and then respect that the student will make use of the opportunity provided.
