Success
We go above and beyond for all students. I feel we err on the side of facilitating success for all students, not just access. Does anyone else experience this at their campus?
William,
I agree. Part of my job is to continually monitor and research the ADA/504 "landscape". I've seen so many changes in just the last couple of years.

It is made easier to heklp the student achieve his goal thanks to 504 and the ADA.
Ebony,
I'm so glad that you found this course helpful! I oversee over 109 campuses with regards to disability services and I hear/see something new everyday. I'm always learning.

I agree. The campus that I am on now, does promote success for all students. It does feel like a family type environment, however, I have noticed that the school does not have wheelchair access to enter the building, or automatic doors for wheelchair access. Good thing it's a one story building. But accommodations are provided for test takers. After taking this course it has made me more aware. This is an issue I'll ask about getting to accommodate wheelchair access.
Donna,
Thinking JUST in terms of students with disabilities, it is important to keep in mind that 504/ADA provide a floor, not a ceiling. They tell us that we may not do LESS than ____ for a student, but they don't prohibit us from doing more. We may not be legally required for focus on student success, but I don't think it is a problem for the school to promote success for all students.
